Flanged Ball Valves

Hi,

recently decided to change some ball valves that had the handle shafts break, got a surprise when i removed the first ball valve to find that the nut holding the through hull in place was actually part of the ball valve.

Does anybody know who the manufacturer of these ball valves, this boat 'Christina 43" was made in the Thailand yard in 1990.

the only marking on the valve is 555 WOG, and the valve size on the other side.

i am having trouble sourcing them in Oz!

WOG stands for the water, oil, and gas rating for the valve and reflects the maximum pressure capability of the valve at 100 F. You don't need an exact replacement. It just needs to be WOG 555 or higher - this is probably overkill to begin with, but let's assume it is not. Measure the valve, the threads, the flange, etc. and get another through hull that fits. Staying with same material would probably be good.

That elbow should come off. If it doesn't, get a new one.

The catalog shows triangular bases for the valve, but the discount web site shows a model with circular bases. A phone call might be in order before ordering.

I'm sure you can find others, but Groco is a pretty good choice. The catalog has some interesting suggestions for other system improvements as well.

Any thru hull of good quality and similar size should work. The ones Mimoza show will work. The pressure rating for these is low and any good bronze unit should be fine.

Thank you , for some reason i couldnt find flanged seacocks in any of my internet searches, however i was searching on ball valves. the ones in the sites you sent look like great replacements.

i did also contact Jack at HC Thailand, and he said he also had some available as well.
