I would suggest looking at the HC38 T Pallarran presently testing out their DYI dodger in Tonga. He has a few pictures of the process.
We decided to bite the bullet and have one made by the Tartarooga folks out of Sidney BC Canada. The cost estimate for our 38T is $6000 canadian ( about $4500 US ) plus tax. I like some of the DYI dodgers and the materials available off the shelf made the whole project very possible. I am tempted but I have too many DYI projects going and there is only one of me. There product is durable and can be customised. The craftsman has extensive GRP experience as a boat builder and has made hundreds of these. HIs wife does the canvas work. They can also do bimini with connection.
