Great idea. Never seen these starters before, but it appears they use them for black starts on boats. Also for life boat starting. Below is a link to a UK manufacturer. Cost may be high as they do not have a off the shelf unit to suit our Yanmars, their is an enquiry form on the website to get a price for a specific application.

Already did that - got a standard reply: "there is not one made for that engine". I was hoping some mech. genius here had adapted one.
