Tankless instant water heater

Here are some pictures of our water heater installation. We went with the Excel America LPG vent-free water heater. I installed it in the anchor locker with a couple sheets of aluminum behind it as a heat shield.

We put another propane system in and used the forward deck box for the tank storage with the switch in the head.

The water heater operates based on water flow. Once the water pressure changes and water flows, then the heater attempts to ignite the gas, but if the gas isn't on, then the ignition continually clicks. I didn't want to burn up the ignition if somebody tries to use the hot water side of a faucet without turning on the propane system so I installed a water solenoid that I bought off EBay that opens when the gas solenoid opens.

Although I am not interested in plumbing more propane than we already have, I am interested in the Instant water heaters that are electric. Curious if anyone else has considered this option vs the standard 6- 10 gallon, engine or AC heated tanks.

Currently we are in Mexico and the necessity for heated water is minimal, but since the 8 gallon tank just rusted through I would like to have a viable option that will work in Northern lats as well. We are currently looking at a EEMax EX2412 which is 110V and has a max draw of 20 amps. The size difference is considerable which will allow for another set of curling irons, foot massager or something else for the admiral. Honestly the installation just looks simple, the connections a direct 1 for 1 match to what we had (hard wires 110V AC) and since nobody on board takes more than a 5 minute shower (usually on and off) I don't see any disadvantages. The unit raises the water temp by 35+ degrees, so I imagine anything north of San Francisco could be a problem, but then that is not our destination now.

Besides not being able to hit 100 degrees in lats about 39 or so, any disadvantages? Pricing is about 1/3 of the standard heater with engine hook ups.
