NEW HCOA and Hans Christian Contest!!

Postby Anonymous » Tue Oct 04, 2005 6:13 am

http://www.gillkeely.com/competition.html

Follow the link to see the details. This contest is open to HCOA members only. So pass the word. And join now if you want to be part of this super contest.

Below part of the email HCOA recieve for this great contest.

GillKeely Marine is about to undertake a concerted campaign to market Hans
Christian sailing vessels. This campaign will include the following
magazines:

Cruising World
Cruising Helmsman
Ocean Navigator
SAIL
Blue Water Sailing

The advertising will include information regarding the vessels and some
glossy photographs, and be similar to those firms currently advertising.
The vessels that will be advertised include the 33T, the 41T, the 43
Christina and the 48T models.

I would like your input into this campaign as I do not currently have
sufficient images of a suitable quality to include within the marketing
advertisements and would like to put the following proposal to you:

"That HCOA run a competition in conjunction with GillKeely Marine and Craig
Beckwith to obtain a set of high quality digital images of any of the
vessels mentioned above showing interior and exterior (full sail) or at
anchor that could be used in the magazines mentioned above. Craig Beckwith
operating for GillKeely Marine would be entitled to select a winner of the
entries received and make a decision on their suitability for use"

The owner of the images must give full permission for their use within the
advertisements and their vessel and name will be duly recognised. The
winner of the competition will receive a "Stormglass" and bracket that
compliments the HC fleet. (A Stormglass is a fairly old piece of kit that
has been in use for the last few hundred years and is an aid in forecasting
weather. More information can be found at
http://www.atwimports.com/atw/marine/stormglass/ )

The Hans Christian sailing vessels are about to be resurrected. Do your
members want to be a part of this?

NEW HCOA and Hans Christian Contest!!

Dino,

Unfortunately the 43 is not an option at this stage as we will only be producing the models named in the post. I was thinking of putting together an advertising spread later in 2006 on current owners and their vessels. If this goes ahead you may be interested in being a part of it. I am sorry you feel a little left out.

Ian

G'day Peter,

I can see your message on the new messages list but cannot see it in this post. I cannot see mine for that matter but the great god Computer sometimes does this. I can see only a few words of what you wrote and it refers to "38's"

Pantawee Marine still has the mould for the 38 MKII but it is not in too good a condition with about 86 vessels being taken from it. The 38MkII is possible but we would have to ressurect the mould or look at additional charges to refinish the hull and deck. If you are interested please email me at:
ianjohnstone@gillkeely.com

My best regards, Ian

Ian, First Light, HC33T here (1984 #60). We know Ray Mayo and Resolve and would be interested in seeing the image you selected; certainly a fine example of our lovely vessels. Will you continue to seek photos/images of HCs? We have dozens of ours in various locations/countries if so. Thank you for resurrecting the HC! Chuck and Kathy.

Thanks all for the replies. I will have to ask Ray if it is OK send the image selected. We are always after good quality images of HC's and any that arrive will be considered for use in advertising.

The person sending an image which is used will receive something in return as well as seeing their vessel and their names in glossy boat mags.

The web site is to be redesigned into a professional site in January and the HCOA will be formally linked. The concept of an Owners Page or section is on the cards as well. If you want your vessels on the site please email me on ianjohnstone@gillkeely.com

Hope all is well in the U.S. We are just entering our cyclone season here and it looks to be a good one.

Best regards to all, Ian
