Welcome aboard Murph. I am the owner of Goodnight Moon hull #9 living in Marina del Rey CA. I am confident that you will be happy. 48"s need a bit of breeze to sail although you'll find with proper sail trim that making hull speed is not difficult. Enjoy a sailing yacht with little heal and huge stability. They sail like a scampy sloop yet with the stability of a ship. Candy and I have owned GNM for 7 years and often charter her out (captained charters). Our clients cannot believe the solid feel of her along with the traditional feel. Our's has a Nanni 5 which is a mercedes engine along with a 3K lugger gen set, bow thruster I would say is a must for those tight dockings. We have actually received many offers on her over the past years as ours appears to be in excellent condition compared to others. All teak is varnished so I guess you'll get to enjoy that part too unless you like the look of oiled wood. If you enjoy bright work and polishing brass you picked the right yacht Murph. If you are ever in so. California come buy and go sailing with us.
Cheer
Candy and Capt Ron Simmer (Master Captain)
