Do any 48 owners know where the hull identification number would be located in the engine room? I've looked all around the transom on the exterior and there is no # there. I have read that the HIN is sometimes stamped in the engine room, but my engine room has insulation on all the walls which would require me to start tearing it out without any idea where it might be.
Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks.

What year is your boat? Our 48T is a 1985 and the VIN is on the transom, starboard side. Very hard to see because it is under the boomkin but it is there. Don't know of any VIN in the engine room. Good Luck!

Sorry, should have mentioned that. It's a 1990. We found it via the US Coast Guard website (I'm the 2nd owner) so didn't have to go digging into my engine room. Thanks for the reply! Will check the transom again there.
