I am getting to be an experienced owner. I purchased a 1979 38T in September. From what I read about what the one you are looking at is like, I am really happy with the deal I got. I had mine professionally surveyed, which I'm glad I did. We found no rot, no soft decks, of course mine had the teak decking removed long ago, if it ever had any to begin with. The engine has 51 hours on it, ya that's right. It's been sitting pretty much for the better part of 10 years, and was filthy, stunk and needed a lot of TLC. All the issues in my book are minor and things I can handle myself. I gave less than %40 of what they are asking for the boat you are looking at. Another 38 my surveyor found, Tillie, was listed in 2014 for $119,000 and sold for $88,000. That boat if you search online for the sales video walk thru, is decked out and from what I see, ready to go.

Dear all, - Thank you again for your response to this thread.

I can now call myself HC38 owner. - with a nice renovation project in the binoculars.

This HC 38T (# XSA38125A888) came to Europe in 1995 under the name PRIMA DONNA, bought by an Austrian owner.
In 2008, the ship was sold to a German owner and got a new name "TAAORA"

We will return the ship to its original name (yes we are a little superstitious here in the scandinavia) and she will get home-port in Copenheagen.

Many greetings
Martin

Dear Jon, thank you for your greeting.
We have just returned home after our first vacation in our new ship, it was amazing.
We would like to meet when you come to Europe, you just say when ;)
will it be with your ship?

Thank you! Glad you guys had a good time. We are defiantly going to make out way to Europe, our boat insurance just opened up boundless cruising in Cuba which we might take advantage of for the winter season of 2020 now, so Europe might be delayed another year but we are defiantly still planning on getting there eventually.
